Barcelona to rebuff Man Utd interest by offering Neymar bumper new deal

The Premier League side were willing to pay a world-record fee for the Brazilian, who is the second player to use interest from United to secure a bumper new deal this summer after Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos flirted with the Old Trafford outfit before committing to a renewal at the Santiago Bernabeu earlier this month.

Neymar, who helped Barca win the treble last season but has been sidelined so far this term with a bout of mumps, is happy in Catalunya and will now become the club's second-highest earner behind Messi, who takes home around €22 million per year after tax.

Talks between Neymar, who has scored 54 goals in 92 appearances since moving to Barca in the summer of 2013, and club are yet to get underway, but a meeting is to be arranged in the coming days. The Brazilian has attracted interest from Old Trafford in the last few days, but the Catalans have no intention of selling and the 23-year-old is set for a lucrative new contract

Barcelona are to offer Manchester United target Neymar a new contract and pay rise to end summer speculation and secure the forward's long-term future, Goal understands.

United made an enquiry about the Brazilian in their negotiations to try and sign Pedro, but Barca are not considering a sale and will make Neymar the club's best-paid player after Lionel Messi, who takes home around €22 million per year after tax, to tie the player down until 2020.

The 23-year-old's current contract expires in 2018 and former president Sandro Rosell promised the Brazilian he would be offered a new deal in 2016.

Rosell resigned in January last year due to controversy over how the player's move from Santos was paid for, but his successor Josep Maria Bartomeu - who took over and was elected again in July - is set to offer the renewal ahead of schedule after United's recent interest.

How to dress for a Job interview - Tips for Men

Men’s interview dressing has been fairly static over the years. In fact, it’s pretty much the same whether you’re applying for an entry-level position or for something higher up. The difference is that the entry-level guy isn’t expected to have as many -- or as expensive -- high-quality clothes. For a second or third interview, the new grad would wear different shirts and ties but might understandably trot out the same suit; someone applying for a managerial role or something more senior could not do the same.

So what are the overall dos and don’ts for men’s interview fashion? Check out this guide to colors, fabrics and presentation.

Suit Style

At a higher level, you need a minimum of two suits, starting with a solid navy and a solid dark gray. Unlike a swaggering pinstripe, a serious solid won’t turn anyone off. You don’t want to seem too showy, come on too strong or dress better than your interviewer. Your background, experience and personality should speak for you, not your clothes.

Avoid a double-breasted suit; a single-breasted one is not only more current but always safe. Either a two- or three-button cut is fine, although a two-button style is a shade more classic. Fabric must be seasonally appropriate and properly pressed. Crisp and neat are key when deciding what to wear.

Wear the navy suit for a first interview and the deep gray for a second interview. An important note: Even though a black suit and a tan suit are two great additions to a man’s wardrobe, neither is interview-appropriate unless you’re seeking a job in TV or some other glamour industry. Should you get to a third interview, you might go with a subtle shadow-stripe suit or return to one of the earlier choices. This is often a second meeting with someone you met in only one of the first interviews, so wear the suit that person did not see.

A blazer or sports jacket is almost always too casual for an interview. Still, a blazer and dress slacks do have their place. If you’re seeking a position in academia, where professors may not even own a suit, or if your interview extends to an evening social invitation, you’ll want to show you are flexible enough to unwind and dress in a slightly different manner. But stay with what’s classic and traditional: navy blazer, gray dress pants, perhaps a blue or subtly striped shirt, and a quiet tie. The location may be different, but the approach is the same.

Shirts, Accessories and Grooming

For the first interview, a white shirt, not blue or ecru, in a business style is best. Wear a simple shirt collar, such as a traditional straight point or a slightly less dressy button-down, avoiding tab collars, pins or wide English spreads. Also avoid monograms or jaunty contrasting white-collar-and-cuffs. And no French cuffs, which will help you avoid any cufflink mistakes.

Above all, go with 100 percent cotton, no blends. The shirt should be as crisp and white as possible. It might even be worth investing in a new shirt. Provided you choose a light shade, you might pair a blue shirt with the gray suit for your second interview.

The tie is extremely important, since it is the first thing someone notices in a man’s outfit. An all-over, neat pattern, a small dot or a classic stripe all work well. Avoid anything wild, overly bright or statement-making. For example, a bow tie is out of the question -- even if this is your style, save it for later. Forget pocket squares. And minimize jewelry. Certainly wear a watch, but not a sporty running watch or a Rolex.

To complete a professional image, black lace-up shoes are far better than casual penny loafers or anything gimmicky with buckles or straps. Never underestimate the importance of a good shoeshine. And black socks only, ones that are long enough to cover your ankles if you cross your legs but not bulky.

Clean nails; trimmed and freshly combed hair; well-knotted tie (ideally with a dimple); pressed pants; and an ironed, neatly tucked-in shirt are as important as choosing the right clothes. Looking polished says positive things about your business judgment. Have a real pen handy as well as a clean handkerchief in your pocket.

Importance of Appearance in the Job Interview

Don’t underestimate the importance of appearance. A 2006 Job Outlook study by NACE found that employers were most influenced by a candidate’s overall grooming and how they dress. When deciding how to dress for your next job interview, it’s important to take note of how the hiring manager might feel about your choices as well.
Candidate Apperance Influence

A man can often adjust his wardrobe to express his personal style and individuality, but this almost never applies to job interviews. Here it is crucial to concentrate on your goal of getting the job. You are not trying to impress anyone with your distinctiveness or flair. That can come later -- after you get the job.

Don’t Hesitate to Ask
Finally, it never hurts -- and can help a great deal -- to ask during your preliminary phone discussion, “By the way, what should I be wearing?” or “What is your dress code?” If the answer is business casual, which is not likely, take that advice with a grain of salt. You never know if your face-to-face interviewer will have another meeting that day that requires him to be more formally dressed. If that happens and you’re dressed more casually, you are immediately at a disadvantage. Better to dress up than down is a good rule.

Facial Hair

Shave Beard Job Interview
Most career experts agree that the clean shaven look is the best option for an interview, and they have a good point. It shows that you are serious about the interview. Beards can make you look lazy if they are unkept, even if you’re an all-star. Going the clean shaven route is definitely the safer option.
While the experts mostly agree on this one, keep your beard short and well groomed with clean lines if you just don’t want to part with your manliness. Personally, I went the bearded route for my last interview. I have a baby face, and I wanted to appear slightly older to ensure that my young looks didn’t trump my experience. It worked, because I did get the job

How to dress for a Job interview - Tips for Women

“What the (bleep) am I going to wear today?” This question is never more important than the day of a job interview. Yes, yes, it’s your personality and skills that really matter, but your appearance is often what your interviewer will notice first—and it can go a long way in showing her that you’re ambitious, professional, and most importantly, a great fit for the company.
Which means—there’s no one-suit-fits-all approach for what to wear. From your jacket to your shoes to even your accessories, you’ll want to consider the culture of the place you're applying before you pick out your ensemble.
So before you start shopping, check out our guide to four common company types—and what to wear for each.

Corporate Classics

For companies that have a business or business casual dress code, keep your look basic and conservative for the first interview. (Stick to these guidelines for the second and third interview, too, if it’s a more formal organization.)
“The rule still applies that you dress for the job you want—not the job you have or are applying for,” says etiquette expert Diane Gottsman (check out her Job Interview Attire Quiz!). She recommends wearing a conservative suit—a jacket with pants or a skirt—in dark grey or navy, and carrying “a briefcase or purse, not both.” Finish the look off with basic black pumps and simple, elegant jewelry.
Conservative Interview

Business Casual, Interview Style

“Depending on where you’re interviewing, on second interviews you may have an opportunity to dress down to some degree,” says Gottsman. Unless the company's employees wear suits every day, you can skip the jacket after the first interview (or wear a more casual one)—just make sure you’re still dressed a couple of notches above everyone else. “Remember that this is still the first time some of these people will see you,” she adds.
Think what you'd normally wear to work, dressed up a bit: Diane Davis, a New York-based web editor, recommends a “dark skirt, crisp white blouse, statement necklace, good bag, and polished boots or pumps as weather-appropriate.” A shift dress with a cardigan or blazer would also work well.
2nd interview

Startup Style

If you’re interviewing at a place where everyone comes to work in jeans and flannels, you don’t want to show up in a black suit—it will signal that you won’t fit in or don’t understand the company culture. (Think about it—they’re running a ping-pong-in-the-break-room-style start-up to avoid being around all those suits all day.)
But that doesn’t mean you should channel your inner hipster, either. “It means wearing something you are comfortable in, something that's work-appropriate, and something that represents you,” says Lauren Batty, a startup recruiter at Connery Consulting, LLC. “If I were interviewing in the startup world today, I'd wear a nice pair of dark jeans, a simple shirt or sweater, ballet flats, and a small bag with enough room for a note pad, pen, and extra resumes. A casual dress would be appropriate as well.”

The Interviewer Wears Prada

If you’re gunning for a fashion-industry job, where the employees look more like Gucci models than Gap-outfitted cubicle dwellers, you’re going to have to dress the part. “Dressing too stuffy, boring or corporate will immediately indicate you're not the right fit—before anyone even sits down to interview you!” says style expert Jennifer Chan. “To still look polished and professional, pair one business-like piece (a pencil skirt, a smart blazer, or sleek trouser pants) with something more fun—a chic blouse and a great belt, for example.”
She also recommends wearing one (but only one) fabulous statement piece, like patent pumps, a collar necklace, or a bold watch.
fashion
Above all, you want target your look to the job you're applying for—just like you target your resume and your answers to questions in the interview. Having a killer look might not get you the job, but it'll make sure you stay in the running. Good luck!

Dear Job Seeker, Is Your Computer Literacy Enough?

I hear people often say, ‘I am computer literate’ and I am wondering what they meant by that. The statement does not answer any question. For God sake, there are over a hundred thing you can do with a computer, so telling me that you are computer literate is very ambiguous. Bypass the computer literacy cliché and just tell me what exactly it is you can do with the computer.

Almost every CV on my table has that cliché ‘Computer Literate with Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications’ or Proficient with Word, Excel, Power Point and Internet Appreciation and I am like , and so? Is that all?

I am not in anyway disputing the importance of those applications in the day to day operations of the workplace. However, in today’s competitive and ever demanding workplace, your ability to use Word Applications, Power Point and Excel sheet does not spell you are computer literate. Computer literacy has gone beyond that.

Time has passed, when Proficiency in Microsoft Office and your use of internet gives you an added advantage in the labor market. For my friends that have jobs already, if you must remain relevant and indispensable to the system you are working with, then you must take your computer literacy level from just your ability to type on word and surfing the internet. As a matter of fact, this computer skills are what your little niece in elementary school can boast of.

I was on an interview panel yesterday, and I met a graduate of Computer Science from Yabatech who is supposed to be ‘computer literate’. And I asked him, does it mean you went to higher institution to learn how to browse and use the Microsoft office application (that I am not sure he can even use)? He defended himself by telling me that it was only theory that they were thought in school (I knew he was lying), but I asked, so if that was what you were taught in school, which one did you teach yourself? You know the answer now. He was looking at me with that ‘pity me’ gesture.

My advice to you as a job seeker is to step up your game. If you must secure your dream job then you must prepare for it. Learn an advanced computer skill that is relevant in your desired field. Everybody is proficient in Microsoft application, which alone cannot improve your chances.

It is very necessary to pursue a professional certification in a chosen computer application because at the end of the day, that might be the certificate and skill that will get you a good job and not your degree certificate. A lot of persons are feeding and excelling on just a computer skill they learnt and not their degree. It is very important. Below are some of the necessary computer skill you can add to your proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.

7 Essential Features Of A Good Web Design

1. High Quality Content – High quality content is what drives people to go to a website for information. Readers want something that is helpful, something that they can learn from. So, when you produce content for your site, be sure that you are writing about something in which you have a lot experience.

2. Keywords – Keywords should be used throughout your web content. These are words that you think people will use to look for the type of information that you providing. This is to help search engines find your website when these keywords are used by people doing their searches. There are various techniques in effective search engine optimization, so spend a little extra time researching on the best approaches.

3. Responsive Design – Creating a responsive design means adapting to the screen size of any device the visitor or reader is browsing with. Responsive design improves viewing experience for readers by provides optimal layout, as the design elements are the same and compatible with the standard design while there is no need to zoom in and zoom in or scroll too much just to search for what you need.

Google recommends responsive design as best way to configure your website design because it is easier for the visitors and there will no need for zoom in and zoom out on other mobile phones. If you doubt, Try it now if you are reading this article on a desktop browser – resize the browser size and see how the content reduces itself to fit your browser size. The images, header and content column will lessen or decrease to fit the screen size, the sidebar will be moved under the content as the layout changes/switches from two columns to one column. The layout switches depending on the screen size you are viewing my site on and it works equally well on any device. If you want to view how your site looks on mobile devices, visit Google mobile-friendly test site.https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly/

4. Navigation Menu – The design of your website should be pleasing to the eye. When you walk into a large department store for the first time, you go to a directory in order to find the location of the department that you want to go to. In a website, the directory is your navigation menu. Each menu item should be a link to the respective page for that information. Your menu buttons should be labeled clearly so your visitors will know exactly where to go for information.

5. Pages – Do not make your pages too cluttered with images. You should aim for a fast page load because no one wants to wait around for a page to load. Unless you are displaying a photo gallery, avoid putting in a lot images. For the images that you are using, optimized them for the web to keep the file sizes down. If you page loads too slowly, you risk losing your visitor, even though your web page may have good content.

6. Contact Us – Make sure you have a page devoted to contact information. This page should have the name of your company, your address, phone number and email address. You should also consider developing a form where your visitor can fill in to describe the information that he is looking for. When you get emails requesting information, answer them promptly. This visitor has good potential to be converted to a sale.

7. Good Layout – If you have a lot of text, be sure that you have a good layout for it. Divide long blocks of text into shorter paragraphs to make reading easier. Use a font size that is comfortable to the eye. This will improve the reading experience of your visitors.

Good web design will encourage your visitors to come back again. So, spend some time to make your website relevant and attractive, and watch your website traffic increase day by day.

Innocent Ajakaiye, A Corper, Dies Playing On The Pitch

"Mikel", as we called him back then in school, was a very strong and articulate midfielder. Oh My God, I can't just believe this. He still lamented the death of Sam Okwaraji on the pitch on his facebook timeline on 12th August.
He slumped and died yesterday 13th August playing for Kebbi NYSC against the Police Machine in faraway Birni-Kebbi.
"Mikel", is this the end to your professional football career which you had always dreamt of?
RIP bro until we will meet to part no more!!
Ajakaiye Innocent Mikel.
